100 year anniversary wishes: Moving Fast

In 2023 Komori celebrates its 100th year anniversary. We have not achieved the success of the past 100 years alone. It takes strong, reliable and lasting relationships to do so.

This series of "Anniversary wishes" features partnerships that have been part of Komori history.

Talking today

Petra & Jeroen Fortuin from Moving Fast

When & how started your relationship with Komori?

It was in 1993, so already 30 years ago! Jeroen then took the plunge and just walked into the Komori office. He then spoke to Dick Kroon and told him who we are and what we do. And then asked the question, do you ever use a courier service? Since then we've been working for Komori and have been to many European places.

Can you also tell a bit more about the work you are doing?

Moving Fast offers courier services throughout Europe and is specialized in urgent transport. We can transport up to 3 - 4 pallets. On average, we organize 5-10 transports a month for Komori. No request is too crazy! Just recently we were called on Friday morning and a package had to be delivered 1200km away in France. And still, we do the delivery with great pleasure and we then leave as soon as possible.

What do you like about working together with Komori?

Great contacts! It feels like a personal collaboration and we can express appreciation. We always say the customer is king, so we are as flexible as possible, but this is taken seriously. And there is also room for a joke and that has made it great fun to work together all these years.

Do you have special memories or anecdotes to talk about working with Komori?

One of the best memories though was a delivery in the UK. It was by plane, we literally jumped on the plane, delivered the package past customs and jumped right back on the same plane.

We remember well the very first ride. That was done 30 years ago by Gerrit Fortuin and his wife. It happened quite often, they would go together and make it a fun outing.

So 30 years ago they had to deliver something in France below Paris. Back then, that was still with the road map on our lap. On the spot, they even bought a street book.

Eventually, they ended up somewhere in a suburb of Paris but didn't quite know how to the actual spot. Fortunately, there was a lady standing by the road. So my father-in-law did go and ask for directions.... It turned out the lady was standing there with very different intentions.

In the end, they luckily found the right address. And at the time, trust was very high. It was difficult to make a quick call and check for more information.

Do you have any future outlooks or anniversary wishes for Komori?

We wish for Komori that it may experience lovely growth in the coming years and strongly establish itself in the international market. And of course, we are happy to be part of it. We are looking forward to future adventures.
